Comment from Andrea Debiasi Sensei of the Accademia Aikido Shochikubai in Padua, Italy:

“Usually we work on kaeshi waza starting from strong and sincere attacks. Kaeshi waza in our school is required for most of the Dan tests, and in these cases it is hard to reverse even a single technique, unless the timing is optimum. Still, studying complex sequences, with several techniques, makes sense, where one needs to work on the fluidity and sensitiveness, “feeling” the partner in a smooth continuum. Based on my experience, I feel that most of the students, no matter how skilled they are, may benefit also from this kind of work, which is indeed fascinating. With this in mind sequences like this are proposed and can be enjoyed.”
