Morihiro Saito was one of the closest students of Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. He learned directly from Morihei O-Sensei, oftentimes on a one-on-one basis, during more than 20 years in Iwama. Saito Sensei and his wife were of great service to the Founder and his wife and were treated like family members. Saito Sensei learned the Aiki Ken and Jo movements that Morihei was perfecting during this stage of his life in addition to hundreds of empty-handed techniques.
